Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia is representing a leading Malaysian company in the engineering and industrial sector. We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accountant to manage full-spectrum accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. The role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, handle statutory reporting, coordinate with auditors and tax authorities, and contribute to financial integrity and operational efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full set of accounts (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets)
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)
- Handle taxation matters, including SST submissions and liaising with LHDN
- Support audits and coordinate with auditors, tax agents, and company secretary
- Assist in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Maintain proper documentation and strengthen internal controls
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent) is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of MFRS, SST, and Malaysian tax regulations
- High integrity, attention to detail, and accountability
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
