Executive Search Firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a leading shipping company located in Makati City for the position of Accounting Manager (CPA). This role will be based onsite in Makati City.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Manager of Accounting performs various tasks related to the proper execution/supervision in the preparation of financial reports and schedule, compliance to procedures in his/her assigned work, ensures accurate recording and posting of various accounts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, timely and accurate preparation and filing of statutory and mandatory reports to government agencies and strict compliance to the Company's established practices and procedures.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Handles General Accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), banking transactions, Computerized Accounting System (CAS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) compliance, and payroll.
  • Ensures accurate posting of general accounting transactions.
  • Coordinates with BIR regarding Letters of Authority (LOA); leads negotiations for amicable settlements and liaises with consultants to fulfill documentation requirements.
  • Prepares monthly reports for general accounting commission computations.
  • Approves online payments for AP, general accounting vendors, and cash deposit (CD) refunds.
  • Prepares and records payroll and final pay for both local employees and expatriate officers.
  • Reviews supporting computations for carrier's tax and VAT reports.
  • Coordinates with external auditors for the year-end audit of financial statements.
  • Reviews daily AP and AR closing activities, as well as month-end reports.
  • Reviews the Alphalist prior to submission via eSubmission.
  • Ensures compliance with BIR and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations across all accounting practices.
  • Prepares, records, and updates monthly Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions and loan payments, including those for branch employees.
  • Inputs employee Alphalist data in the BIR Data Entry System and submits the Data Transmission (DAT) file via eSubmission annually.

Key Job Requirements:

  • College Graduate/bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance.
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • At least 5 years of experience in overall administration and general Human Resource management
