Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, an executive recruitment company, is recruiting on behalf of a globally respected company in the multinational nutraceutical ingredient industry. As the company begins expanding its footprint in Southeast Asia, our client is seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager with a strong track record in sales and business development, specifically in the nutraceutical or functional ingredient space.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure for high-quality, science-backed nutraceutical ingredients such as Omega-3 oils, probiotics, and botanical extracts.
  • Leverage strong scientific understanding to communicate product mechanisms, pathways, features, and health benefits to clients in a professional and technical manner.
  • Collaborate closely with headquarters on product strategy, positioning, and client support to ensure market alignment and business success.
  • Represent the HQ in client negotiations, handling business terms and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with formulators, R&D teams, and procurement professionals in both the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries across Indonesia.
  • Proactively address customer needs by offering tailored ingredient and formulation solutions.
  • Regularly track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), pipeline activity, and market trends to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in sales or business development within the nutraceutical or functional ingredient industry.
  • Strong knowledge of and sales experience in Omega-3, probiotics, or clinically validated nutraceutical ingredients is highly desirable.
  • Proven success in managing B2B sales cycles and growing key accounts.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa, with a strong ability to coordinate between clients and HQ.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker, adaptable to changing market conditions and customer insights.
  • Strong integrity, problem-solving mindset, and a customer-first attitude.
  • Career-driven individual with aspirations to grow into leadership roles, such as team head, department head, or country manager.
