The CFO is a strategic partner to the executive team, responsible for the overall financial stewardship of the company. This role ensures sound fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning to support growth and sustainability. The position also carries official Corporate Treasurer responsibilities, including attending board meetings and signing official documents.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Financial Strategy and Planning - Direct financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic initiatives and long-term sustainability.
- Drive Policy and Tax Optimization - Provide expert guidance on cost control, tax efficiency, and overall policy in line with legal requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee Financial Reporting and Compliance - Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, filings, and compliance with Philippine laws, BIR, SEC, and other regulatory bodies.
- Risk and Opportunity Management - Identify financial risks and opportunities, recommend strategies to mitigate risk, and optimize profitability and cash flow.
- Corporate Governance and Treasury Functions - Fulfill duties of Corporate Treasurer, including attending board meetings, signing corporate documents, and supporting capital structure decisions.
- Internal Controls and Audit Oversight - Establish and monitor internal controls and oversee periodic internal and external audits to ensure operational integrity.
- Executive Decision Support - Provide financial insights to the CEO and leadership team on major business decisions, investments, and policy direction.
- Team Leadership and Oversight - Supervise and mentor finance and accounting teams to ensure effective execution of financial operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experienced in accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting, with at least 2-3 years in a management role
- Familiarity with Philippine tax laws, BIR/SEC compliance, and general corporate governance
- Strong working knowledge of financial systems, internal controls, and budget management
- Effective communicator who can support executive leadership in financial decision-making
- Experience in a mid-sized company or professional services/IT consulting industry preferred
- Exposure to strategic planning, while still hands-on with finance operations
