Coating Advisor (Central Luzon)
Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a multinational chemicals company dealing mainly in decorative paints and performance coatings. This company sells and distributes interior and exterior paints to consumers and professionals worldwide, the world's leading provider of marine coatings to shipowners and management companies for newbuilding, drydock and seastock, and a leading supplier of powder coatings to companies active in industries related to appliances, furniture, building components, pipelines and general industries.
Essential Duties:
The Coating Advisor provides professional advice to customers for the project, by proposing the best solutions and work processes involved in the application of coatings. This also involves overseeing the various steps of the painting process in the yard.
- Advise yard staff on the proper application of paints to ensure coating work is carried out according to specification and procedures.
- Ensure that only valid specifications are used and adhered to, and that no shortcuts are taken in the operation
- Ensure that the specific paint type is correct and delivered in the correct quantity, in accordance with owner specifications
- Inspect equipment used for preparation and application, to ensure it is in good operational condition and that there is no risk of defects into the finished application
- Carry out inspections on the hull prior to commencement of the work to ensure surface preparation is suitable for blasting or painting works
- Provide onsite testing according to specification to ensure that the surface of the coating is finished to the best possible standard.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting work undertaken, including the results of pre- and post-application inspections and testing
Qualifications:
· Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Others) or equivalent.
· At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
· Preferably 1-4 years experienced employee specialized in Engineering - Others or equivalent.
· Carry out inspections of specific projects assigned to you by your direct manager and work independently, efficiently, and seek practical solutions.
· Contact direct manager, sales, and/or CSD for supplies and other relevant project issues.
· Communicate effectively with customers, applicators, supervisors, and relevant Jotun colleagues. Report regularly according to Jotun's standard documentation policy.
· Study and pass Team No 1, Level 2. (Level 1 completed as Junior Coating Advisor) is highly advantageous.
· Adhere to the policy "Role of the Coating Advisor."
· Advise on-site by making use of Jotun's product information.
· Willing to be assigned to different projects/locations in Luzon.
