Monroe Consulting Group, an executive search firm, is hiring on behalf of a leading retail chain in the Philippines specializing in quality school and office supplies, arts and crafts materials, and gift items. Our client is seeking a Director of People and Culture who will drive strategic growth by developing and implementing innovative approach This role is based in Makati directly reporting to the Managing Director.

About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Director of People and Culture to lead our human resources and organizational development initiatives. This role is critical in shaping a culture that drives performance, engagement, and business growth. The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR leader with deep Organizational Development (OD) expertise, backed by practical knowledge of HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the People and Culture strategy aligned with business goals
  • Champion a strong organizational culture and drive employee engagement initiatives
  • Oversee all areas of HR operations, including recruitment, performance management, compensation & benefits, and employee relations
  • Design and implement OD interventions such as change management, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop talent strategies that support business priorities
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and HR policies
  • Monitor HR metrics and deliver actionable insights to the executive team
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the HR team to achieve strategic and operational objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a proven track record in strategic HR and organizational development
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations across the employee lifecycle
  • Preferably with experience in the retail or FMCG industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence and lead change in a fast-paced environment
