To strengthen its compliance function in Thailand, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead Anti-Financial Crime activities and act as the designated AML Officer and MLRO.
This senior compliance position will be responsible for overseeing AML/CTF and Sanctions frameworks in Thailand, acting as both the Anti-Money Laundering Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, ensure regulatory adherence, and coordinate with regional and group-level compliance functions.
Job Responsibilities
Act as the designated AML Officer and MLRO, advising business units on AML/CTF, sanctions, anti-bribery, corruption, FATCA, and CRS obligations.
Implement international and local regulations, adapt group policies to Thai requirements, and maintain a robust control framework.
Conduct annual AML/CTF and sanctions risk assessments, recommend mitigation actions, and oversee screening and transaction monitoring activities.
Perform second-line control reviews, testing, and inspections, assess effectiveness, and advise on remedial measures.
Deliver regular updates, reports, and compliance plans to local boards, regional committees, regulators, and group functions; cascade compliance communications to management.
Collaborate with regional and global compliance teams on audits, regulatory inquiries, and quality assurance reviews.
Fulfill all MLRO responsibilities and ensure accurate and timely FATCA/CRS reporting.
Job Requirements
Relevant degree, preferably in Law, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Solid background in compliance, governance, or risk management, with strong exposure to AML/CTF in financial services or insurance.
Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and financial crime prevention practices.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work confidently with senior executives, regulators, and international teams.
Proficiency in English and MS Office applications; experience with GRC tools is an advantage but not essential.
