Job Summary
Our respected client is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Backend Engineer of the highest professional standing and a background in either gaming, fintech and entertainment for the job of Lead Back- End and DevOps Engineer.
The job is in Quezon City, Philippines and offers a Hybrid set-up (4 days WFH, once a week Onsite every Tuesday).
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Laravel-based APIs (PHP 8+, REST only)
- Develop secure, scalable backend systems for fintech and banking
- Create applications with security in mind, from code to infrastructure.
- Manage servers and infrastructure using Docker and AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)
- Handle Linux server management: updates, firewalls, monitoring.
- Configure and maintain web servers like Nginx and/or Caddy
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Optimize MySQL/MariaDB performance and backend logic.
- Communicate with external clients for technical clarifications, API integrations, or support.
- Can lead backend direction, infra decisions, and mentor/guide other developers if needed.
- Work on integrations with local payment channels, e-wallets, and banking APIs (e.g., GCash, Maya, BancNet, InstaPay/PESONet), and gain exposure to KYC/AMLC flows (experience a plus, but easily learnable).

- Backend: Laravel, PHP 8+, MySQL, Redis
- Scripting/Tools: JavaScript (Node/tooling)
- Infra/DevOps: Docker, AWS (EC2, S3, IAM), Nginx, Caddy, Linux
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions * Security & Networking: Cloudflare (WAF, DNS, rate limits), Zero Trust principles
- Tools: Git, GitHub, Postman, curl, CLI, monitoring tools (top, htop, etc.)
Bonus Skills:
- Serverless: Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda
- Experience with PH fintech/payment integrations (GCash, Maya, QRPh, UnionBank, etc.)
