Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a multinational pharmaceutical company. Our respective client is looking for a Compliance and Legal Manager who will ensure that the organization operates within the framework of the law, identifying potential risks and mitigating them. This role will be reporting to the Legal & Compliance Director with hybrid work set-up and is located in Taguig City.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively develops strategies to foster and improve the organization's compliance culture across all departments.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Program, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Designs, implements, and revises policies and procedures to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Identifies compliance vulnerabilities and risks, develops corrective action plans, and offers guidance on future prevention.
  • Works closely with departments like Risk Management, Internal Audit, Employee Services, and Legal to address compliance issues and ensure proper investigation and resolution.
  • Acts as an independent body to ensure compliance issues are thoroughly evaluated, investigated, and resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive compliance training program, including onboarding training for new hires and annual sessions for all employees and managers.
  • Organizes and leads monthly compliance meetings with the Management Committee to discuss and review compliance matters, including key issues and progress updates.
  • Supports internal and business partner audits, ensuring processes are in place for task completion. Collaborates with auditors (local or regional), recommending interventions and improvements to policies, systems, and controls based on audit findings.
  • Provides legal support across all functional areas, including preparation/review of legal documents, contract advisory, and representation with government agencies as needed.
  • Reviews and provides legal input on all company contracts, including those related to partners, products, distributors, healthcare professionals, trade channels, and pharmaceutical sponsorships.
  • Serves as the company's Data Protection Officer, managing data privacy compliance across all operations. Ensures the organization processes personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Oversees Data Privacy training for all employees.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of law, preferably a member of the Philippine Bar
  • At least 5 yrs experience in compliance and legal with 2 years in leadership capacity
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and internal audit processes.
  • Familiarity with key business disciplines, including finance, economics, and management.
  • Proficient in various areas of law, with technical expertise across multiple legal fields.
  • Highly skilled in utilizing digital tools and assets effectively. Flexible and resourceful in challenging and changing situations
