Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia, an executive recruitment firm is partnering with a prominent MNC company that specializes in the development and manufacturing of advanced microscope systems to hire a Regional Business Development Manager. This role is responsible for driving growth and boosting the company's sales funnel, win rates, and order intakes across Southeast Asia (SEA), with a strong focus on the Academia sector. This opportunity is based in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Expand market presence within the Academia sector across SEA.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and gain a deep understanding of customer needs, the competitive landscape, and electron microscopy products, including correlative microscopy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, and APAC Business Development (BD) teams to develop and implement growth strategies.
  • Enhance the sales skills of the RMS SEA sales team and distributors.
  • Drive new business development and provide timely reports to management and APAC Business Managers.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Southeast Asia.

Main Duties:

  • Develop and execute sales plans for Academia Electron Microscopy (EM) portfolios in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia.
  • Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Deepen market and account penetration, develop new accounts, and gather market intelligence.
  • Plan and implement marketing initiatives to raise awareness of company's solutions.
  • Support product launches and collaborate on portfolio strategies and competitor countermeasures.
  • Provide direct sales support for key Academia opportunities and champion EM initiatives.
  • Coach and support sales teams and distributors.
  • Offer market and technical feedback to influence product development.
  • Build and grow Academia EM sales funnels and improve win rates.
  • Manage projects within and beyond assigned territories.
  • Collaborate with Lab teams to develop custom solutions and applications.
  • Collect and report customer and market intelligence regularly.
  • Provide monthly updates on sales funnel and win rate improvements.
  • Utilize CRM tools for reporting and data analysis.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in electron microscope sales or marketing, with a proven track record in capital equipment sales through direct and indirect channels.
  • Strong knowledge of academia, material research, life sciences, microscopy, and software solutions, SEM, FESEM, XB and CorMic (LM-EM, EM-XRM)
  • Experience working with Distributor Partners and diverse cultures.
  • Sales experience in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia; government tendering experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malay, Thai, and Vietnamese is advantageous.
  • Strong team player and independent worker.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM sales tools.
