Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of an international company that provides testing, inspection, and certification services for various sectors. Our respected client is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to support their business and ensure alignment to their global legal strategy and procedures and contribute to the development of a high-performing legal support function in a dynamic, international environment. The office is in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, Philippines with hybrid work arrangement (x3/week onsite).
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and optimize document management-leveraging AI tools and other legal technology solutions where appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day legal support and strategic advice across the Group's businesses and functions in the APAC region, focusing on contract review, claims management, insurance, corporate governance, and legal back-office operations-ensuring consistency, responsiveness, and high-quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for first-level contract reviews, drafting, and negotiations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and efficiency while minimizing rework and unnecessary escalation to the HQ Legal Team.
- Oversee corporate governance activities and supervise the execution of KYC and UBO compliance processes managed by the Corporate Affairs and Records Coordinator.
- Support centralized record-keeping of legal documentation, development and maintenance of contract templates, internal policy updates, legal risk management initiatives, and the delivery of legal training programs.
- Ensure all legal activities are carried out in alignment with established service level agreements and regularly report updates, risks, and key developments to the HQ Legal Department.
- Foster a culture of legal excellence, accountability, and continuous learning, while proactively identifying and escalating legal risks or anomalies as needed.
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant international corporate and law firm experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, must be a bar exam passer.
- Solid practical experience in multi-jurisdictional corporate and transactional work, with a strong focus on contract drafting, negotiation, and execution.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong legal drafting skills; proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and other document or records management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues, identify legal risks, and provide practical and innovative solutions.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects involving cross-functional stakeholders, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while maintaining effective communication and alignment with the HQ Legal Team
