Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a growing digital bank that serves as a bridge between traditional banking and digital finance. Our client is seeking a Tax Manager for a full onsite role based in BGC, Taguig City, Philippines.
Job Summary:
The Tax Manager leads the bank's tax function, ensuring full compliance with Philippine tax laws and regulations, optimizing tax positions, minimizing risks and exposures, providing tax advisory support, and liaising with regulatory authorities. The role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people management to support the bank's financial and business objectives.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all tax obligations in the Philippines
- Manage tax provision and reconciliation processes
- Develop / recommend tax strategies and planning opportunities to optimize tax liabilities, improve operational efficiency, and support business.
- Monitor Philippine tax laws, jurisprudence, rulings, regulations, and policy developments; assess the impact on the bank and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Handle tax audits, assessments, and inquiries from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) or other regulatory bodies
- Ensure adherence to internal tax policies, governance, and controls; maintain proper documentation and tax records.
- Collaborate with other departments (Legal, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations) for tax implications of business decisions / products.
- Oversee transfer pricing compliance
- Support internal and external audits related to tax, regulatory filings, and financial reporting.
Key Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in tax roles, preferably in the banking/financial services industry or professional services.
- Strong technical knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulations, and tax compliance requirements.
- Experience in tax accounting, corporate tax planning, dealing with BIR audits, and preparing tax provisions.
- Familiarity with transfer pricing and international tax issues is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of relevant accounting standards (e.g., Philippine Financial Reporting Standards ‒ PFRS), especially those relating to taxation (current and deferred).
- Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills; ability to interpret complex tax technical issues and present them clearly to senior management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel)
