Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Healthcare division is recruiting on behalf of an international Life Science company to hire a Procurement Supplier Operations Specialist (Long Tail). This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operational supplier relationships within a defined portfolio of long-tail suppliers, ensuring compliant, efficient, and stable procurement operations while acting as a key interface between suppliers and global stakeholders. This opportunity is based in Selangor.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Operations Management - End-to-end operational responsibility for a defined portfolio of long-tail suppliers (approx. 3,000 suppliers, ~10% of total spend). Act as single point of contact for assigned suppliers regarding operational, commercial and administrative topics. Ensure smooth day-to-day supplier operations in line with procurement policies and processes.
  • Negotiation & Commercial Activities - Conduct low-value and operational negotiations within defined commercial and contractual frameworks (e.g. pricing adjustments, delivery conditions). Implement centrally defined procurement strategies and contractual guidelines. Document negotiation outcomes and ensure proper system updates in close alignment with master data standards.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Coordination - Coordinate regularly with Global Procurement Stakeholders, with a strong interface to German Category Management teams. Clarify and resolve operational supplier issues without unnecessary escalation. Actively manage supplier- and stakeholder-related escalations within defined escalation paths.
  • Master Data & System Compliance - Ensure accuracy and completeness of supplier master data in collaboration with the Master Data & Governance Specialist. Adhere to defined master data standards and approval workflows. Support continuous improvement of supplier-related processes.
  • Data Quality Support - Support data quality and master data compliance for assigned suppliers in collaboration with the SSC Master Data function.


Key Requirements:

  • University degree - In business administration, supply chain management, procurement or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience - In operational procurement, supplier management or purchasing.
  • Experience working in an international or SSC environment - Is beneficial.
  • Practical experience with Procurement and ERP systems - E.g. SAP, LN INFOR, Ariba.
  • Confident handling of MS Office applications - Especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills - With the ability to manage conflicts constructively.
  • High level of ownership, reliability and decision-making capability
  • Excellent command of English - Written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in at least one additional Asian language - E.g. Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Vietnamese is an advantage.
  • Basic German language skills or willingness to learn - Ability to process German-language procurement content with support.
