Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of one of the country's leading shared services for food and retail industry. Our respective client is looking for a Tax Manager who is well-versed in overall Tax functions of the company. This is on an onsite work set up based in BGC, Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Job Summary:
The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall tax compliance and tax reporting functions of the group and its entities. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation, review, and filing of all tax returns while maintaining compliance with BIR regulations and applicable tax laws. The Tax Manager leads tax planning initiatives, manages tax audits, and provides strategic guidance on tax matters to minimize risk and ensure operational efficiency. The position supervises the tax team and collaborates closely with Accounting, Treasury, and external auditors within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Review and approve calculations of income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and other internal revenue taxes prepared by the Tax Accountant
- Oversee the accurate and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns via eFPS and eBIRForms
- Lead the preparation of tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents during BIR audits and assessments
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of tax-related schedules required by external auditors
- Review tax reconciliations and ensure alignment with General Ledger balances
- Provide guidance in preparing organized working papers and documentation for tax compliance and audit readiness
- Coordinate with Treasury for approval, funding, and timely payment of tax obligations
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Tax Accountants to ensure high performance and compliance standards
- Monitor regulatory changes and new tax rulings; assess impact and implement necessary process updates
- Identify tax risks and recommend process improvements and compliance enhancements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure tax compliance across all the Group entities
Key job requirements include:
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, tax reporting, or tax advisory
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and BIR compliance requirements
- Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Experience handling BIR audits and tax assessments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced MS Excel
- Experience using accounting systems/GL systems and ERPs is an advantage
- Knowledgeable in eFPS and eBIRForms
