Business Analyst


Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a global leader within the chemical industry. Our highly respected client is seeking a Business Analyst, with at least 5 years' of relevant experience. The job is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Job summary

The ideal candidate will be in charge of assisting the VP of Sales by providing timely and accurate reporting and analysis of the current market trend. He or She will be working closely with the VP of Sales to monitor the performances and execution of plans & initiatives across the region and take necessary actions / decisions.

Key job responsibilities include:


  • Assist VP Sales in planning regional marketing and sales strategies, and business reporting for internal and external presentations; present information in an easy-to-understand and timely manner.

  • Collects, consolidates, and generates monthly & quarterly sales reports and data from all sales entities across Asia Pacific. Pro-actively analyses the information with attention to key metrics to support decision making. In particular, variances from forecast must be highlighted and explained. Monitoring & analyses of price increase.

  • Drive the region Sales budget planning and forecasting process, takes the lead in preparing the annual sales budget & forecasts - balancing between local, regional and corporate requirements.

  • Monitor sales data and harmonize group database with the Salesforce CRM system. Respond promptly to varying data analysis and requests from the countries across RAP or from corporate office. Ensure right data input system, providing full information regarding customers and products in the region.

  • Manage the opportunity pipeline with the sales directors: ensure accurate and up to date data, monitor progression of the sales funnel and compile the top opportunities on regional level.

  • Performs market research and intelligence. Is the go-to person for all market data and competitor analysis in the region. Collect, analyse, and periodically report information regarding regional market situation and competition.


Key Job requirements include:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or any relevant qualifications.

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience.

  • Preferably from Chemical Manufacturing Industry.

  • Market familiarity and experience with multi country across APAC region.

  • Communication and Interpersonal skills.

  • Able to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and people across diverse cultures.

  • Solution-driven, goal-driven, and result-driven.

  • Strong business acumen with high integrity.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities.

  • Able to work in both independent and team environment.

  • Good coordination skills for teamwork across multiple time zones and cultures.

  • High fluency in English, both oral and written.

  • Other languages will be an added advantage.
