Azure Data Engineer

About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with a strong background in the Azure Data Platform to join our global team. This role requires hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining complex data solutions using Azure services, with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading end-to-end implementations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and driving best practices in data engineering. You must be proactive, adaptable, and experienced in working within international and remote teams. A strong commitment to learning, mentoring, and delivering high-quality results is essential. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end implementation of data solutions on the Azure Data Platform, including design, development, deployment, and maintenance. Collaborate with external service providers during solution implementation to ensure high-quality deliverables. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning. Design and implement scalable data pipelines and integration solutions, including working with data from SAP and Salesforce. Ensure data accuracy, performance, and reliability across all stages of the ETL lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Participate in Agile development cycles and contribute to sprint planning and delivery. Apply data management principles, including data lakehouse architecture and best practices aligned with DAMA capabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across various functions and geographic locations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or further studies in Data Science/Analytics is a plus. 4-8 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role with a focus on the Azure Data Platform. Strong proficiency in: Azure Data Lake Azure Databricks Azure Data Factory Microsoft Fabric Azure Machine Learning Azure Cognitive Services Azure Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases Solid understanding of data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architectures. Hands-on experience integrating data from enterprise platforms such as SAP and Salesforce. Relevant Azure certification: DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate) or AZ-305 (Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions). Strong skills in SQL, Python, and cloud-based ETL development. Experience working in Agile development environments. Familiarity with DAMA data management principles is an advantage. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English (Spanish is a plus). Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, geographically dispersed team.
