Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)

-Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a Multinational Personal Care Manufacturing Company for the role of Engineering Manager with a prior experience in handling tube and bottling filling machinery. The key responsibilities will be :

Strategic & Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical specialists focused on production machinery and automation.
  • Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with the company's manufacturing and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with global and regional engineering teams to share best practices and standardize processes.
  • Manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects related to production equipment and infrastructure upgrades.

Technical & Operational:

  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Evaluate, specify, and implement new production machinery and automation solutions for efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead root cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations (e.g., GMP, ISO, OSHA).
  • Work closely with R&D and Production teams to support new product introductions and process scale-up.
  • Manage relationships with external equipment vendors, contractors, and engineering service providers.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies, including data analytics, IoT, and smart manufacturing systems.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize energy usage, reduce costs, and improve sustainability in production machinery operations.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enhance production flexibility, changeover efficiency, and equipment performance.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in engineering roles within manufacturing, preferably in the beauty, cosmetics, or FMCG industry.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position overseeing production equipment or maintenance teams.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects and implementing new machinery or automation systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of automated production machinery, packaging equipment, and process systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and engineering design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies
