Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of the top Singaporean multinational technology company which focuses mainly on e-commerce. Our respected client is seeking a Law professional for the job of Legal Counsel focused on Employment, Litigation, Compliance, Data Privacy. The job is in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines and is currently on a Day-Shift (10am - 7pm) Onsite arrangement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on all aspects of employment law, including recruitment, employee contracts, policies, terminations, and employee relations.
  • Stay updated with employment-related legislation and proactively advise on potential impacts or changes.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and other related documents.
  • Manage and oversee litigation matters, including employment disputes, contractual disputes, and other legal proceedings.
  • Work closely with external legal counsel, review legal documentation, and provide strategic guidance for dispute resolution.
  • Represent the organization in court proceedings when necessary.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and investigations as required.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.
  • Act as the organization's Certified Data Protection Officer (DPO) and ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy laws, and other applicable regulations.
  • ​​​​​​​Develop and implement data privacy policies and procedures.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and ensure appropriate data handling practices.


Job Requirements:

  • Law Degree
  • Admitted to the Philippines bar, having 7+ years PQE working in the Legal field
  • Preferably with Certified Data Protection Officer (DPO) certification or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in handling employment-related matters, litigation cases, and compliance issues.
  • Experience in data privacy and protection, including GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, litigation procedures, compliance frameworks, and data privacy regulations
  • Exhibit a high level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • ​​​​​​​Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Experience in applying legal knowledge to deliver the full scope of strategic legal services.
  • Effective consulting and advisory skills that enable clients and help resolve their legal questions.
  • Ability to work and deal with sensitive issues in a multi-cultural environment and to build effective working relations with colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
