Power BI Developer

Monroe Consulting Group Philippines, an executive search firm, is recruiting on behalf of a company that leverages its experience and expertise in the healthcare industry to deliver medical equipment, technology, and supplies to healthcare facilities and individuals in need.

Job Summary
The Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role involves transforming raw data into interactive reports and dashboards that support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate should have expertise in data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power Query, and SQL, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Hours: Must be available to work on Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Device Requirement: Candidate must own a personal computer/laptop that meets the required specifications to run Power BI efficiently

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development & Data Visualization

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Develop data models and DAX calculations to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability in reports.

Data Integration & Transformation

  • Connect Power BI to various data sources (databases, APIs, cloud services).
  • Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Power Query and SQL.
  • Optimize data models for performance and scalability.

Business Insights & Reporting

  • Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Analyze trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and business metrics.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.

Performance Optimization & Security

  • Optimize dashboards for fast load times and responsiveness.
  • Implement role-based security (RLS) to manage data access.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance and security protocols.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with IT, business analysts, and department heads to enhance reporting solutions.
  • Document data models, report structures, and business logic.
  • Provide user training and technical support to drive Power BI adoption.


Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Power BI development and report building
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and SQL
  • Experience with data modeling and visualization best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration in remote teams
  • Personal device capable of running Power BI and other necessary applications
  • Ability to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory)
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other analytics tools
  • Exposure to other BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies


Minimum Hardware Requirements
To ensure optimal performance when using Power BI and related analytics tools, candidates must own a device with the following minimum specifications:

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 (10th Gen or newer) / AMD Ryzen 5 or better
  • RAM: 16 GB (32 GB preferred for large datasets)
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD or higher
  • Graphics: Integrated GPU (dedicated GPU preferred)
  • Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit) or macOS with Windows compatibility
  • Internet: Stable 50 Mbps connection (minimum)


Work Setup & Schedule

  • Remote-first setup, with onsite work 2-3 times a year (up to 5 days per visit)
  • Must be available to work on Eastern Standard Time (EST)
  • Standard office hours with flexibility based on project deadlines
  • Cross-time zone collaboration when necessary
  • Must own a personal device that meets the minimum hardware requirements
