Senior Process Engineer - Oleochemical
Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a European EPC company. Our client is seeking a technical professional, with about 6-7 years of experience to support project execution by developing core engineering documents and ensuring process design aligns with safety, efficiency, and operational requirements.
Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible to be involved in the engineering side by preparing key engineering documents such as process flow diagrams (PFDs), equipment specifications, heat and mass balances, and P&IDs. The position works closely with the Process Department HOD and collaborates regularly with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. Involvement in HAZOP studies and automation descriptions is also expected.
Job Description:
- Be involved in the execution of projects on the engineering side where you will assist producing engineering documents, such as but not limited to, basic process flow diagram (PFD), sizing & specifications of equipment, heat & mass balances, utilities and consumptions, P&ID's, operating manuals, description of automation, HAZOP studies.
- Be part of a team responsible for all technical and process related matters in the Oleochemical department.
- Develop chemical process simulation with company's available software.
- Participate in site survey, pre-commissioning and start-up of the plants and carry-out troubleshooting on site, producing the relevant detailed report.
- Site presence for start-up or trouble shooting in our customer installations, allows for gathering valuable feed-back from industrial practice - allows extending their process know-how as well as "continuous improvement" of their product lines.
- Be available to support the company on process design of any company technologies, R&D, Standardization process and sales activities.
Key job requirements include:
- More than 6 years of experience working in an engineering field, ideally in Oleochemical.
- Knowledge of Chemical Simulation Software as Chemcad, EDR, HTRI.
- Good knowledge of typical basic engineering calculation like as, but not limited to, line sizing, safety valve sizing, exchanger sizing, pump sizing.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software with special reference to Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Site experience during plant mechanical check, pre-commissioning, start-up, and fine tuning.
- Available to travel within Malaysia and abroad.
