Executive recruitment Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of the one of the largest distributors of electronic goods and gaming hardware. Our respective client is looking for a Category Manager who will be responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal. Must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment with commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles. This position requires field work and onsite work reporting from Monday-Saturdays and will be reporting to the Managing Director.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Increase sales and profitability of business to drive sustainable growth
  • Analyzing data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
  • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories and develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
  • Product range management
  • Manage vendor relationship to achieve better pricing and quality of services
  • Manage appropriate orders to ensure product availability and meet consumer demands
  • Maximize product visibility by determining positioning
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
  • Work together with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
  • Ensure product sustainability by forecasting and inventory
  • Responsible on budget development and revenue for category
Job Requirements
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in the same role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or any related course
  • Proven experience as a category manager or similar role
  • Firm understanding of the PC gaming, I.T. and Mobility industry
  • Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles
  • Good understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Drive digital sales through indirect reporting structure
  • Ability to analyze product trends and develop appropriate strategies to alter outcomes on the individual, product, and individual customer level for our digital product set
