Executive Recruitment Company Monroe Consulting Group's Logistics Division is partnering with a leading global freight forwarding company to seek a Customs Entry Specialist responsible for declarations for ocean and cross border shipments. As a Customs Entry Specialist, you are to assist in import and export customs formalities, handle customs declarations for the customers, arrange transportation after customs clearance, and ensure a smooth process before and after shipment.
Job Description:
- Prepare customs declaration forms for submission.
- Handle all customs formalities with customs and other authorities for clearance.
- Verify and advise clients and agents on appropriate HS Codes.
- Advise clients on duty and tax amounts.
- Guide clients, agents, and colleagues on required documentation and permits for customs clearance.
- Coordinate with local distribution and vendors to arrange trailers or trucks for smooth road delivery when needed.
- Follow up immediately on any discrepancies.
- Process supplier invoices and forward to Finance, ensuring payments are made according to agreed terms.
- Serve as a liaison between Finance and the Customs Clearance Team/Agent for smooth document and transaction processing.
- Assist department staff with administrative tasks related to freight.
- Manage E-commerce declarations (E-Pam) and support Courier business cargo system updates and billing.
- Coordinate trucking and brokerage, confirm duties/SST, and handle job creation and billing.
- Follow company compliance and corporate policies.
- Perform any other duties or projects assigned by the supervisor as required by business needs.

- Proficiency in written and spoken English/Bahasa Malay.

- Detail oriented with strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.
- A motivated self-starter with a strong drive to support the company in its growth initiatives.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and initiate.
- Between 1 - 3 years direct experience in general freight and/or forwarding.
- Strong industry knowledge including various carriers and trade routes.
- Customer handling skills.
