Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a Multinational Personal Care Manufacturing Company for the role of Packaging Engineer :
- Collaborate with customers to define and support the development of packaging requirements outlined in the product brief.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings and lead all technical discussions related to packaging.
- Coordinate with internal teams to identify existing packaging solutions that align with the project needs.
- When necessary, provide Procurement with detailed technical and design specifications in line with the brief.
- After packaging approval, manage all technical communications with primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging suppliers.
- Ensure packaging complies with customer sustainability and regulatory requirements, including obtaining necessary certifications.
- Review technical drawings to confirm packaging compatibility and functionality, share specifications with suppliers as needed, and lead discussions on improvements or revisions.
- Present costed packaging options to internal and external stakeholders, addressing feedback and inquiries constructively.
- Assist the industrialization team in conducting risk assessments and support successful line trials if needed.
- Gather and maintain packaging data to meet project documentation and reporting requirements.
- Define testing schedules for packaging and compatibility, ensuring timely provision of materials and initiation of tests within the project timeline.
- Oversee all phases of artwork development, offering technical guidance and final approvals.
- Keep the NPD (New Product Development) team informed of progress on packaging tasks, including testing and trials.
- Review and approve testing data, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Stay informed of, and adhere to, all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
Job Requirements :
- A Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Diploma holders with substantial and relevant industry experience may also be considered.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in packaging development, testing, or product development-ideally within the personal care, skincare, cosmetics, or beauty sectors.
- Solid understanding of various packaging materials, including plastics, glass, tubes, pumps, and labels.
- Familiar with key packaging test methods, such as compatibility, stability, leakage, and weight loss testing.
- Knowledgeable in artwork development processes and printing technologies.
- Capable of analyzing packaging-related issues and assisting with troubleshooting and resolution.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing operations, including filling and assembly lines.
