Job Summary
Our respected client is seeking an experienced Purchasing Expert of the highest professional standing and a background in handling day-to-day product and supplier evaluation for the job of Purchasing Specialist.
The Purchasing Specialist is expected to be a meticulous and analytical thinker with excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, and good working knowledge of purchasing strategies. The job is in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines, and offers a night shift and hybrid work arrangement.
Key job responsibilities:
- Manage the company's day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure to meet the department performance standards
- Propose improvements to the current purchasing process that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business
- Collaborate with the sales, customer success, and warehouse teams to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and maintaining those levels throughout the year as needed.
- Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock
- Perform other tasks as maybe assigned by team
Key job requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or other relevant academic disciplines
- 3+ years or more years of experience providing the types and levels of knowledge, skills and abilities required in a purchasing role.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects
- Experience in book selling / retail purchasing is a plus
- Experience working with publishers of educational materials for schools is a plus
- Experience in Purchasing Plan development and implementation
