Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading Indonesian provider of integrated one-stop sea logistics and transportation solutions for bulk materials, particularly coal. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 20 years' experience in port management for the job of Senior Manager Port Operations. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Report directly to GM Port Operations
- Manage daily harbour activities, cargo loading/unloading, terminal operations, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to international maritime laws, port security, and emergency response plans.
- Liaise with shipping lines, customs officials, logistics agents, and government authorities.
- Oversee budgets, control operational costs, and analyse performance metrics to improve financial returns.
- Develop long-term strategies for port growth, infrastructure modernization, and efficiency improvements.
- Hire, train, and supervise personnel, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, logistics, supply chain management, or related fields.
- Minimum 20+ years in port operations, terminal management, or international shipping.
- Strong understanding of maritime laws, customs, and shipping documentation.
- Leadership, crisis management, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency in logistical software.
- Excellent project management skills - with ability to identify critical path issues and develop solutions to keep a program on track
