Vice President Merchandising & Special Project (Retail)

Executive recruitment company, Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading local Retail company. Our respected client is looking for a seasoned, driven, and ambitious Retail professional for Vice President of Merchandising & Special Project role who has been in the Fashion & Retail Industry with at least 10 years of Merchandising experience. The job will be based in Jabodetabek, Indonesia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the functional teams of own label design and product development, buying, planning, allocation & trading.
  • Oversees the consignment vendor (brands) managers, selection and trading of brands.
  • Direct the setting up of own label budgets, range assortment, category plans, sales & profit strategy & targets.
  • Determining all aspects of planning, buying, trading and stock management, in order to reach company targets and financial KPIS targets and controlling & evaluating brands' Performance.
  • Makes trading decisions appropriately to maximize sales opportunity whist predicting emerging trends for a better positioning in the industry.
  • Hands on with practice & process of product development, critical path guidance, supply base and international supply potential.
  • Provide strategic and operational guidance & leadership to the merchandising team.
  • Build strong brand relationships both within local and international brands.
  • Working collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders in ensuring growth opportunities, historical learnings and financial ambitions are incorporated and serve the best needs of the customer alongside business KPIs.
  • Analyzing historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals; conduct hindsight analysis to incorporate learnings into current and future plan.

Job Requirements:

  • Having minimum experiences of 10 years in Merchandising & Planning International Brand and High End Fashion while holding minimum bachelor's degree in fashion design, or any related field.
  • Equipping strong customer-driven mindset & in-depth understanding on trends to guide design & product development direction.
  • Strong awareness on market direction, commercial fashion, and product quality to ensure successful product sell through.
  • Strong Team Building, decision making, and people management skills.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by examples.
