Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Professional and Tech Division is partnered with a development and investment fund manager looking for a Deputy CEO. This organisation plays a key role in generating multiple tech SMEs through venture capital activities.

Job Summary
In this position, you will be leading overall fund sourcing and stakeholder engagement initiatives for the Venture Capital division which includes establishing partnerships with relevant entities in obtaining sources of funding for the organisation as well as networking activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for overall investment management of the company's portfolio of funds which includes monitoring of existing investments and evaluation of potential new investees.
  • Leads in establishing the Division's Annual Business Plan and Budget in support of the Company's short and long term business goals and objectives.
  • Establishes KPIs for Division and PRIs for direct reports as well as monitors and ensures their attainment.
  • Leads in developing and establishing policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and systems for all the Departments (4) and Units (3) in the Division.
  • Leads the development and implementation of continuous improvements and enhancement in fund management services, policies, SOP and systems in support of an integrated fund offering by the company.
  • Initiates and leads in the preparation of papers for funding request from relevant funding authorities.
  • Authorises funds/grants applications for presentation to Technical Committee and Approval Committee.
  • Manages the monitoring of grant recipients to ensure that grants are utilised by the recipients effectively and for the purposes they were approved for.
  • Establishes strategic relationship and linkages with relevant Government authorities and fund managers.
  • Leads, coaches and mentors direct reports to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services (coaching/nurturing) to enhance the success of recipient companies.
  • Assesses performance of direct reports for purposes of reward, development and succession planning.
  • To participate in company related events and CSR related activities at any time and venue

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field - (MBA, CFA or other financial qualifications would be a benefit)
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Investment Management - preferably within Venture Capital, Private Equity or Investment Banking landscape.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel) .
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Result oriented, and organized, can prioritize effectively, and multi-task to deliver results in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as strong business acumen
