Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Finance & Accounting Division is recruiting on behalf of a leading and prestigious Malaysian hospitality company. Our client is seeking a professional, with more than 8 years of experience in leading the accounting and finance operation to be their Director of Finance. The job is based in Klang Valley.

Job Summary
The winning candidate will oversee all financial activities of the hotel, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, effective budget management, and strategic financial planning. This role involves leading the finance team, optimizing financial performance, and providing key insights to support the hotel's overall business strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
* Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the hotel's business objectives.
* Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and improve financial performance.

2. Budget Management:
* Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and
achievable budgets.
* Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Ensure all expenditures are within the approved budget and identify opportunities for cost savings.

3. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting
standards.
* Oversee compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and hotel policies.
* Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and address any issues that
arise.

4. Cash Flow Management:
* Monitor and manage the hotel's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
* Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and strategies to optimize cash reserves.
* Oversee accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely collections and payments.

5. Internal Controls and Risk Management:
* Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the hotel's assets and ensure the accuracy of
financial records.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing policies and procedures to minimize exposure.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management plans as necessary.

6. Team Leadership and Development:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
* Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, encouraging professional growth and
development.
* Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

7. Strategic Financial Initiatives:
* Partner with the General Manager and senior leadership team to drive strategic financial initiatives.
* Evaluate and recommend financial strategies to support new business opportunities and expansion plans.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

8. Vendor and Contract Management:
* Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and service providers, ensuring favorable terms and
conditions.
* Oversee the procurement process to ensure cost-effective purchasing practices.
* Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms.

Job Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably
within the hospitality industry.
* Professional qualification like ACCA, CIMA & etc will be an added advantage.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level of integrity and confidentiality.
