Executive recruitment in Indonesia to feature at Tech in Asia conference in Jakarta

Executive-level recruitment and the potential of Indonesia’s technology sector is set to take centre stage at Tech in Asia’s two-day flagship conference in Jakarta next week.

Executive search agency Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia has confirmed that experienced headhunter Inge Sari Purnama would feature at the Human Resources (HR) for Tech Companies question-and-answer round-table session at the Jakarta Convention Centre on day two of the conference, Wednesday, at 3.30pm.

Ms Purnama, head of Monroe Indonesia’s specialised Technology Division, is an expert in executive recruitment in her field.

The focus of her presentation would be the challenges new start-up and existing technology companies face attempting to penetrate the increasingly important Indonesian market, specifically attracting and retaining key employees needed for growth.

“Indonesia is generally regarded as having a lack of talent in a number of key areas in the tech sector, leading to increased competition among companies looking to secure the services of qualified and competent employees,” Ms Purnama said.

“This often leads to a high rotation of employees and increasingly high salary expectations.”

Tech in Asia has consolidated its signature three events in Singapore, Tokyo and Jakarta into the one event in Jakarta.

Ms Purnama said cracking the Indonesian market, vitally important for companies with regional ambitions, posed difficulties for many multinational companies.

In addition to the recruitment of executives and technical talent, this included infrastructure, regulatory framework and cultural challenges.
