Monroe continues support for the Red Cross Philippines

  • Publish Date: Posted over 8 years ago

Monroe Consulting Group Philippines’ dedicated team of recruitment specialists braved a 4am start to complete the ‘gruelling’ Philippine Red Cross 3-kilometre Million Volunteer Run 3 at Global City, Manila, earlier this month.

“Why they call it a ‘fun run,’ I will never know, given how early the event started!” said Stuart Gatland, the managing director of Monroe Philippines. “Thank God for the 24-hour McDonald’s, so we could warm up with a good intake of carbs, which seemed to be the trend for many of the runners taking part.”

Mr Gatland said Team Monroe was delighted to be involved in the event to help raise money for the Philippine Red Cross, a “wonderful organisation that provided support to the poor and other marginalised groups and were on the front lines when disaster struck.”

The recruitment company was committed to supporting Red Cross throughout 2016, including providing monetary assistance and helping promote the organisation’s emergency mobile application through its extensive database of executive job candidates and corporate clients, Mr Gatland said.

“We are also on stand-by for assistance and support in the case of emergencies or incidents that may occur across the many islands that make up the Philippines,” he said. “Next, in conjunction with the Red Cross, Team Monroe and some of our valued clients will be trained in emergency first aid, along with the ongoing blood-donation scheme.”

Christian Narito, the head of logistics and training centre of the Philippine Red Cross, has previously thanked Monroe for supporting the organisation.
