Google Engineering Manager Herman Widjaja Visits Executive Recruitment Company Monroe Indonesia

  • Publish Date: Posted over 7 years ago

One of Indonesia’s great success stories in the information technology sector, Herman Widjaja, engineering manager with American multinational technology company Google, took time out of a holiday home to visit the offices of executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia recently.

Monroe Indonesia prides itself on organising or attending industry events with senior executives to ensure that its teams of consultants stay abreast of the latest industry news and trends to maintain the Company’s position as Indonesia’s leading recruitment agency. The specific knowledge gathered by these high-level interactions helps Monroe to place the best talent in senior executive jobs with some of the most respected multinational and national companies operating in Indonesia, as well as the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining Google, which specialises in Internet-related services and products that include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software, Herman held senior positions with Facebook, Kindle and Microsoft, where he served as engineering manager for 9 years.

Tina Nugraheni, the head of Monroe Indonesia’s specialised Technology Division, said it was an honour to host Herman, who shared his insights on the ‘Engineering culture’ within the leading tech firms in the world, and how to translate this into real-world applications for start-up or expanding companies operating in emerging markets such as Indonesia.

She said Herman also explained how engineers collaborated to create and develop products, as well as share details about his own personal development and the path he took to working with some of the world’s largest and most respected companies.

She said it was a particularly proud moment for Monroe when Herman endorsed the recruitment company’s ‘Indonesia is calling you back campaign,’ which aims to encourage graduates from overseas universities and emerging tech professionals to return home to Indonesia to help drive the sector in Indonesia.

“Indonesia needs as much talent to return to Indonesia to become involved in the massive digital growth here, particularly E-commerce,” she said. “Herman said the initiative was a good one and that when the time came, he would be willing to step up and help grow the country also. For now, we are fortunate enough to have him sitting in Silicon Valley and helping us connect with Indonesians who want to return home.”
