Respected Executive Provides ‘Master Class of Leadership Qualities’ During Recruitment Industry Event in Mexico

  • Publish Date: Posted about 6 years ago

Humility, connectivity and inclusivity are three key qualities that must be embraced by today’s business leaders, says Jorge Cachinero, the Executive Director, Senior Management Program of the highly respected IE Business School. Mr Cachinero, who has more than 20 years’ experience with a number of leading multinational companies, was speaking during an Executive Breakfast organised by leading executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Mexico.

Monroe Mexico consultant Liliana Gómez Ortiz said Mr Cachinero was the guest speaker at the recruitment company’s second Executive Breakfast and presented a “master class of leadership qualities in the 21st Century”.

“In terms of humility, Mr Cachinero said leaders needed to strive to best understand each other and learn from each other to determine the correct path forward,” Ms Ortiz said. “To succeed, we must be humble as it is impossible for us to know everything.”

The executive recruitment consultant with the Mexico City-based recruitment company said Mr Cachinero also stressed the importance of connectivity.

“A good leader will be well-connected with their organization, with their industry, in the markets, with the universities, with the leaders and with the thinkers, and not falter in the development of knowledge of technology. Open the doors of your office to be open to new things.”

Mr Cachinero, a Scientific Committee member with international relations think-tank the Elcano Royal Institute chaired by HM King Felipe VI of Spain, urged today’s business leaders to embrace inclusivity, she said.

“To create long-term responsible business models, leaders must be agents of change. Companies must find a purpose superior to the prevailing market trends and think radically to innovate and not be left behind,” she quoted Mr Cachinero as saying.

Ms Ortiz said Monroe Mexico was planning to hold up to four Executive Breakfasts each year with the purpose of bringing together business leaders and human resources management professionals to discuss a range of business issues, including HR strategies such as the recruitment and retention of key executive employees or hard-to-source technical talent.

“Monroe Mexico is a key part of the wider international award-winning Monroe Consulting Group, which specialises in executive recruitment in the emerging markets within the Asia-Pacific region, from China to Indonesia, and from Thailand to Chile and Mexico.”
