Thailand’s Challenges and Recovery – An Interview with Pattira Kulpreeda

  • Publish Date: Posted over 3 years ago

Pattira Kulpreeda, Industrial Division Head at Monroe Thailand, recently interviewed with the Future Career Channel. This newly launched channel in Thailand shares insightful information and work-life stories from the job roles of various industries in Thailand. In the webinar, Pattira discusses her insights on the challenges and demands that the Thailand market is facing during COVID-19 as well as expectations and predictions on moving forward towards recovery. Here is what she had to say.

“Recently, I had the opportunity to share my point of view on Future Career Channel about the labour market during the COVID-19 pandemic. This may be the most challenging time of our careers as with such uncertainty and an unpredictable future. As an Industrial Head, with hiring requirements across a diverse business sector, my experience has shown me that success is all about adaptability and how people react to problems and uncertainty.

To all leaders, I hope you see this transition as an opportunity to improve and build upon your change management ability and problem-solving skills. I am sure that your achievements and track record during this pandemic will be valuable to your future employers. I believe that the only way out of the storm is to ride through it. Many things will be a lot clearer on the other side.

A tip I have for fresh graduates who are about to start their career life and are concerned about the future, is to be as open as possible. There are many opportunities out there for you. Learn how to connect the dots and match the market needs with your own. Apart from your hard skills, you can also enhance your soft skill set to use as your selling point. I look for candidates with an outward mindset who are not hesitant to fail and who will react fast to their failure. People are allowed to fail; but it is important to fail fast and fail forward.

Remember that employers are looking for the someone who makes their business grow in the most efficient ways. You have to be a solution to their problem, so you should present yourself in such a light; why they should hire you, how essential you are to their company, and demonstrate that you can contribute to your ideal employer.

Stay tuned for future information and advice on the labour market in Thailand.”
