Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a medical aesthetics company in the Philippines. Our client is seeking a General Accounting Manager to join its Finance team. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is based in Greenhills, San Juan, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Philippine accounting standards, and adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements. This role manages accounting staff, maintains internal controls, and supports management with financial analysis and reporting.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Review general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statements
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Review and improve accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
People Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff
- Assign tasks, set performance goals, and provide training and development
- Ensure proper workload distribution and adherence to deadlines
Budgeting & Management Support
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Provide financial analysis and reports to management for decision-making
- Support special projects, business planning, and process improvements
Key Job Requirements:
- Graduate of BS Accountancy, Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- At least 5 to 7 years progressive accounting with 2 years of which in managerial capacity
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial models)
- Experience with accounting system implementation or upgrades
