Job Description
- Providing guidance to senior management on strategic business decisions.
- Fostering working relationships with relevant Divisions/Departments as part of the coordination function.
- Offering mentorship and guidance to subordinates.
- Delivering legal services to other business units and management through legal advice, contracts, legal opinions, and negotiations with company counterparts.
- Coordinating the work of Legal Department members and addressing problems, if necessary, within the department's assigned capacity.
- Collaborating with related Departments to ensure cohesive efforts.
- Overseeing knowledge management within the internal Legal Department.
- Planning the annual work plan and setting objectives/goals aligned with the Company's vision and mission.
- Approving department-related documents (SOP) and manpower requirements with Board of Directors approval, if necessary.
- Assessing training needs for department members.
- Conducting work appraisals for subordinates.
- Approving budgets, if deemed necessary.
- Establishing KPIs and work areas based on the annual work plan.
- Supervising and evaluating the quality of the Legal Department's work progress, including the achievement of planned goals and KPIs.
- Evaluating overall activities of the Legal Department.
- Coaching, counseling, and training subordinates to support departmental achievements and KPIs aligned with Company goals.
- Developing cooperation and fostering a harmonious working atmosphere.
- Establishing and maintaining systems and procedures within the Legal Department, including those involving other Divisions/Departments within the Company.
- Managing local and international external legal counsels as needed.
Requirement
- Extensive background as a senior lawyer with over 10 years of post-qualification experience, offering legal counsel to leaders, executives, and board members. This expertise has been acquired within an in-house legal team, preferably in the fields of IT, data center, telecommunications, or technology businesses, or within a reputable law firm specializing in these domains.
- Demonstrated proficiency in people management.
- Substantial exposure to a diverse array of legal areas, encompassing commercial and contract law, company law, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, dispute resolution, privacy, IT, procurement, intellectual property, anti-bribery, sanctions, competition law, and fraud handling.
- Familiarity with corporate secretarial work, building permits, and HSE.
- Extensive experience operating in key jurisdictions in Indonesia.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, with a track record of building trust and influencing outcomes among various stakeholders.
- Business acumen coupled with the ability to devise practical solutions for complex business issues. This involves providing candid advice with a focus on risk management rather than risk minimization.
- Proficiency in internal and external negotiation.
- Emphasis on customer focus and the capability to cultivate and sustain internal and external relationships.
- Proven ability to operate independently and deliver commercially oriented legal advice with a high level of integrity.
- Experience in risk management and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to review, draft, and edit documents.
