Head of Business Development

Executive Recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Technology division is currently recruiting on behalf of a rapidly expanding online magazine publication company in the automotive industry. Our distinguished client is currently seeking for a Head of Business Development with at least 5 years' experience in the online publication and business development.

The winning candidate will be at the centre of strategizing business development approaches, revenue stream creation, client acquisition and closely partner with the media and editorial team. They will be responsible for developing the company's opportunity pipeline and increasing revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities, to potential clients and existing accounts. They will also share responsibility for the company in achieving its revenue and return targets and expanding the company's brand presence in existing and new business verticals and segments.

Job responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, identify emerging market trends, and research new markets and opportunities
  • Lead business development, marketing, and sales initiatives to drive topline and revenue growth
  • Foster strong working relationships with customers, as well as with representatives(s) from company's license holder
  • Develop business partnerships within and across verticals
  • Grow the company's income from Ad-revenue, Advertorials, digital asset sales, events, and special projects
  • Provide weekly business development and sales activity reports to management
  • Develop the client call cycle to achieve objectives and sales plan, Follow-up on customer and business leads
  • Drive sales operations execution together with sales team
  • Gather post sales intelligence for the purpose of improving the company's offerings and relationships with customers
  • Support sales team with payment collection
  • Provide market intelligence and general intelligence on key competitors
  • Co-develop the company's product offerings by employing tools such as Goggle Analytics (for example to track user behavior, trends, and online product performance)
  • Manage the company's digital, web and advertising projects
  • Develop account plans and partnerships with key accounts
  • Develop new client accounts and grow revenue from existing client accounts
  • Become intimately familiar with, and internalize all requirements and terms of the ongoing company license agreements, including sales and editorial breaches
  • Ensure that such requirements and terms of company license agreements are adhered to, and that all breaches are strictly avoided

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, mass-communications, or related field
  • Proven digital and/or print media business development, sales, or marketing experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience from the automotive, lifestyle and/or luxury industries
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen
