Regional Operations Manager (Supply Chain), Malaysia
Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a global supply chain organisation. Our highly respected client is seeking for a Regional Operations Director, with at least 10 year's experience in execution of supply chain activities. The job is based in Penang.


Role Summary:

  • Network management integrity
  • Crisis management
  • Review metrics with customer management
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ensure operations adhere to established work standards and work processes
  • Responsible for hiring and training direct reports
  • Primary point of contact for all operational issues with the customer e.g., Customer account management
  • Implement changes to processes or policies
  • Responsible for business scope changes
  • Track labour performance
  • Analyse P&Ls, ensuring business units maintain profitability
  • Lead the team in behaviour and values consistent with the company policy
  • Lead and prepare for monthly and quarterly business reviews with customer
  • Ensure quality metrics are achieved including on time performance, data accuracy, invoicing timeliness, and accuracy
  • Implement corrective actions as necessary to prevent / address issues as they arise
  • Support deployment of transformation projects within regional control tower operations
  • Manage knowledge sharing and conduct refresher training for operations to be kept up to date with changes
  • Set up and maintain document controls


Key job requirements include:

  • Degree in International Business or Logistics - Bachelor's degree in Logistics, 3PL, Transportation or Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience in freight forwarding operations management or related industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Change management, Supply Chain Knowledge, project planning experience; or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, cross-functional, collaborative environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, coordinate and support dispersed teams
  • Demonstrate initiative and a forward-thinking approach to the management of the business
