Our respected client is seeking a Security Engineer Senior Specialist - Safe Browsing. The role is based in BGC, Taguig City, with a hybrid setup (three days onsite per week) and a night shift schedule.
Job Summary:
As a Security Engineer Senior Specialist - Safe Browsing, you will play a key role in protecting users and maintaining a safe online environment. The team's mission is to enhance the coverage, accuracy, and speed of Safe Browsing enforcement systems; understand the global threat landscape for phishing, malware, and unwanted software; and improve the overall user experience by communicating with webmasters, users, and partners.
You will develop expertise in identifying and mitigating phishing and malware threats and contribute to detecting and preventing these abuses at scale. Your work will help strengthen user trust in the organization's security measures. This role requires strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze potentially malicious websites and software to understand their behavior and impact on users, including phishing, malware, and social engineering threats
- Perform static code analysis, dynamic analysis of potential threats identified in the websites such as phishing, malware, social engineering
- Develop complex data analyses to identify harmful entities, examine trends, patterns,
and identify system vulnerabilities. - Utilize internal and third-party threat analysis tools to analyze URLs, payloads, and
classify threat categories. - Gather intel on the threats targeting the websites at scale
- Propose process improvement based on the diagnosed detection gaps and root causes
- Perform technical audit/reviews in code changes made by L1
Key Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or an equivalent technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of strong hands-on experience in security operations, web security analysis, or a related analytical role.
- Strong experience in querying and analyzing large datasets (e.g., SQL) and data-focused programming (e.g., Python).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the threat landscape targeting websites on the internet, including phishing, malware, or vulnerabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Good understanding of OWASP vulnerabilities and/or Exploit Kits.
- Knowledge of Linux operating system and shell/batch scripting.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Ability to independently prioritize competing stakeholder demands, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) for identifying trends and insights.
