The company owns and operates approx. 40 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) in global trade systems, making around 3,000 port calls yearly. Job Summary:
You are a self-motivated and experienced Database Administrator who has worked extensively with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Databases. You will be responsible for several databases throughout their lifecycle from development to production and sunsetting. You are passionate about database architecture - design through implementation, administration, monitoring, tuning, backup, migration, and support. Quality and reliability are important to you and you have the tools and experience to ensure this. You thrive in working with a team of smart and talented engineers. You take and give constructive feedback and enjoy active team discussions. You can help us take our production environments and products to the next level.
You will be part of our Infrastructure & Operations team in Manila and you will directly report to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager.
Key Job responsibilities include:
- Database design, modelling and documentation
- Updating and amending existing databases
- Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems
- Monitoring and maintaining database integrity, efficiency, security and access procedures
- Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted or amended, including ETL
- mechanisms for data transfers across applications
- Develop database utilities and automated reporting
- Sustaining capacity and performance requirements, tuning databases
- Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
- Restore and recover corrupted databases
- Provide 24/7 support for critical situations
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
- More than five (5) years of relevant DBA experience
- Superior SQL skills and certification for Oracle database administration
- Scripting skills and data transfer skills (ETL skills)
- RDBMS and XML database management system experience
- Work experience in a Microsoft Windows Server environment
- Well versed with hardening, monitoring and performance tuning databases
- Continued learning of industry standards and trends in databases
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a teamplayer

- NoSQL knowledge and experience
- Public Cloud database services
- MS-SQL certification
