Narisara's Monroe Experience

I love being a head-hunter. I can’t think of any other job in the world that offers nearly the same amount of pleasure as being an Executive Recruiter does. When I left university in 2008 with a degree in economics, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do so I became a buyer for a leading Thai retailer. As enjoyable as it was, I knew I wanted to be in sales, so I worked in a couple of media companies as a Sales Executive before I finally landed the job as a Trainee at Monroe in early 2011.

All I ever wanted was a great job where I could make good money and have some sense of satisfaction and enjoy what I did. I wasn’t sure that recruitment would do this, but I knew it would be diverse and challenging and I would get to use my brain all of the time. That has proven to be true in the years I have been with Monroe. The emphasis Monroe places on development has made all the difference. Right from the start there was lots and lots of training. Most of it was from the Managing Director who has 25 years of experience and wanted to share his knowledge with the staff. There was lots of classroom training backed up by on-the-job training, online training and continued assessment.

You are really tasked with being the very best recruiter you can be with the emphasis firmly on quality. You are helped through all the different stages of your development but as soon as you get it, you’re allowed to move on. No one cares how old you are or whether you are male or female (which is a big thing in Thailand); it’s all about ability and if you are good, you will move on quickly.

Now people believe and trust my opinion and take my recommendations seriously. Because of this, some of my clients and candidates have even become really good friends. This has been my best job ever and when I bring the candidate and client together and it is successful, then I have proven my worth and my abilities. Through my own hard work and the guidance of my MD, in January of 2013 I was promoted to be Divisional Head of the Consumer Goods division.
