The Head of Accounting - is responsible for leading and overseeing the organization's overall accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, tax, and risk management functions.

The position partners closely with the Managing Director to develop and execute financial and operational strategies aligned with the company's mission and long-term growth objectives.

In addition, the role leads budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, financial analysis, and performance monitoring, while continuously improving accounting systems, automation, and reporting capabilities. The Assistant Managing Director also provides strong financial leadership, manages and develops the accounting team, and ensures transparent, efficient, and auditable processes across the organization.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

  • Support the Managing Director and Board with financial analysis, reports, and strategic insights.

  • Develop and execute accounting and management accounting strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial performance monitoring (KPIs/KRIs), and management reporting.

  • Ensure strong internal controls, risk management (ERM), and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage tax planning and ensure accurate, timely tax filings.

  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, automation, and reporting efficiency.

  • Lead and develop the accounting team while maintaining transparent and auditable processes.

  • Establish and review accounting policies, procedures, and governance standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall organizational goals

Job Requirements

  • Management-level accounting experience; insurance or financial institution background preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS (especially TFRS 17), tax regulations, and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including cross-functional collaboration.
