We are seeking a highly motivated professional to lead the Casualty Underwriting team. This pivotal role is responsible for developing underwriting strategies, managing product portfolios and ensuring profitable growth across all distribution channels. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical underwriting expertise, sound risk assessment skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with brokers, clients, and internal teams.
Job Responsibilities
Set and maintain underwriting standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure consistent and sound risk assessment.
Lead the underwriting team across multiple product lines (e.g., Public Liability, Product Liability, D&O, Cyber, PI).
Review and refine policy wordings, special clauses, and pricing structures to remain competitive and compliant.
Monitor and manage the underwriting portfolio to maintain profitability, identify areas of improvement, and adjust strategy as needed.
Partner with product development and distribution teams to create new insurance products, schemes, or packaging solutions based on market trends and client demand.
Collaborate with internal functions (Reinsurance, Claims, Legal, Compliance, Finance) to support business objectives.
Serve as an escalation point for complex underwriting or service issues.
Represent the underwriting function in internal discussions and external industry events.
Job Requirements
Experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
Experience in product development, especially for the casualty insurance products as well as Financial Institutions insurance products.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
Understanding of insurance regulations; bilingual in Thai and English preferred.
Familiar with underwriting tools and technologies
