Regional Procurement Head (Heavy Industry), Samutprakarn

Renowned for innovation, high quality standards, and strong international operations, our client is seeking a Regional Procurement Head to lead direct material sources and category strategies across a key manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. This role will drive cost optimization, strengthen supplier performance, and ensure supply continuity while partnering closely with engineering and operations to support business growth and new product initiatives.

The Regional Procurement Head will work closely with suppliers, regional teams, and internal stakeholders to lead direct material sourcing and procurement strategies for a key manufacturing site in Thailand. The role involves driving supplier development, contract negotiation, cost optimization, and supply continuity, while supporting new product development and ensuring efficient, reliable procurement operations across critical categories.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing and supplier development activities, including supplier identification, evaluation, selection, performance management, and supply base optimization.

  • Manage supplier relationships, including single/sole source suppliers, and drive continuous performance improvement.

  • Lead contract development and negotiations for high value spend categories, achieving competitive commercial outcomes while maintaining strong supplier partnerships.

  • Drive cost reduction and value improvement initiatives, including sourcing changes, value engineering (VAVE), and supplier/process optimization.

  • Act as project leads to key procurement programs, ensuring timely execution and measurable results.

  • Utilize procurement systems and tools to manage spending, monitor supplier performance, assess risks, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align teams to business goals and strategies.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to take initiative and resolve challenges effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, with exposure to managing large direct material expenses.

  • Strong experience in supplier management, including selection, development, and performance improvement.

  • Proven track record in cost optimization and procurement program management.

  • Experience working with regional or global suppliers is preferred.

  • Background in manufacturing environments is an advantage.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP) are a plus.

  • Lean / Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage.

  • Fluent in English (Mandarin is an advantage).
